guides started at 7.15 am today. we practised for the national day parade contingent thingy today, together with 's brigade, npcc and red cross. mr lee was in charge of the whole thing. and he made us repeat the whole ceremony again and again. for some reason, I suddenly couldnt breather and I felt dizzy, so I stepped out and went to sit with the sec 1 guides. I watched the contingents being shouted at again and again in the pouring rain. it was really depressing. but well, it's for the country anyway

yesterday was a rather fruitful day. except for the fact that miss lee called laura and I up again to tell us that we were still laughing too loudly.sigh. we learnt a bit of new stuff yesterday. however, during a math, for some reason, our class was sorta quarrelling. ok, mayb only laura and I were. We were shouting across the classroom to a certain confident person, and at the same time rolling our eyes at a pms-y person. after that rushed home and bathed. then set off for orchard. I almost got knocked down by a car on the way. shall write in point form.
-set off for orchard.
-spent half an hour looking for the 190 bus-stop before realising it was at the other side of the nieghbourhood. ( see, Im hopeless at public transport)
-almost got knocked down by a car as I was walking to jeanette's house.
-met jeanette, before we went to taka to meet wanda. we then went to popular so jeanette cld get her stationery.which they apparently dont have in shanghai?!
-jeanie overspent, by abt 50 bucks. luckily for her, alicia appeared and lent her 50 bucks.
-ate at KFC at taka
-met michelle at cine.
-took neoprints. Those were the nicest ones I took!
-took pictures downstairs, next to Rocky's cafe.
-suddenly heard a loud commotion, and suddenly realised we were in the middle of a gang fight! and the whole thing was actually planned. all around us, people got up and stood in the middle of the walk way to watch.. we cldnt believe our eyes as the whole grp of us were trying to escape from the scene..people were grabbing chairs from rocky's cafe to hit people! (as in the gangsters)
-we hastily made our way back to jeanie's house..
-watched 13 going on 30
-went home when my parents picked me up!
yup, so I enjoyed myself very much yesterday!

today was quite an 'okay' day although lessons were quite dry...except for the fact that i got drenched in quite a few lessons thanks to Laura. In the morning, all the s involved in the Hong Kong exchange programme were asked to meet in the canteen, and miss shen gave out chocolates.yummy.. she gave out the expensive kind. The kind with the cardboard wings and stuff.. very erm, pictorial. we were asked to volunteer to be a group leader to take charge of our little groups-for contact purposes. Liz, Laura and I decided not to volunteer ourselves, because we felt it was really thick-skinned to do so.but nvm.that's a teacher's idea of a confident young lady. yea, so anyway, we were assigned to some sec 1 .( as in the bunch of us sec 3s being the contactees) I was pretty ok with it,but Liz was quite upset..

well, when we got back to class, we got another big shock. after pam, miss lee called laura and I out. and she asked out why we thought we were being called up. well we racked our brains but we still couldn't think of anything besides forgetting to bring stuff. and laura said something about us laughing.jackpot! guess what she said? she said we should try not to laugh so much as it was distracting our classmates.. gosh. laughter is good for people. and btw, we weren't even the loudest laughers. There are people in class who laugh louder then us, and their laughter is contagious! SIGHH. so for the rest of the day,we had to stop ourselves laughing by covering our mouth, which is not a very nice postion to be in. It was very upsetting for us,  as both of us are the very cheerful kind of people. and telling us not to laugh is like depriving us of our right to be cheerful or something..anyway, laura if u read this_______ur supposed to pass up your math hw___!

our class hit upon the idea of having a class t-shirt for like the third time this year.. and we finally got to discussing as far as the colour of the t-shirt. since miss lee told us that a unique colour was better, instead of the usual black and blue, our votes were tied at pink, black, and orange. so our class decided between pink and orange. Most of the people I know wanted pink. but some people like PAMELA wanted orange.she claims that pink is bimbotic.Yes, I agree with her to a certain extent. but pink is only bimbotic if it is used in the wrong way. For example, a pink feather pen.. with fluff and glitter bits. Whatever happened to pink meaning female tion, and power.and i honestly think pink goes better with green then orange. we'll look like a walking carrot in orange! pamela said that we'll look like a walking bimbo in pink.. gosh.. like hello??? bimbos walk in the first place, carrots dont. So its totally not relevant.but pink with black wording seriously looks good. and its the 'in' colour now. well sorrie all pink-haters..=)

unfortunately, the votes were tied. and miss lee said that orange looked better.so now we have an orange t-shirt..carrotheads..sigh.

annis just called.haha, my mum was quite surprised as overseas calls are really quite expensive. its really quite funny.i slept at 2 am last night as annis and i were talking, you know, last night being her last day and all that. then we woke up at 7am. I dragged myself out of bed and we sent annis to the airport.

when i reached the airport, her teacher ms cheung thanked me for my hospitality and what so ever. Then she looked at the list and asked me why i wasnt going to hk. and i went:"erm, see first. maybe i might change my mind." And she sorta stared at me in horror and exclaimed:"Why? You must change your mind? What's the problem?"so I just laughed it off, and I said see first. after all, for all you know, I might be going to hong kong after all if I can get a edusave scholarship to cover for the trip..

at the airport, we took more photos. However, annis realised that she had left her hk-singapore exchange trip banner at home, and she got very upset. and she looked like she was going to cry, so some parent started consoling her.then had to go as my mum had some appointment.so said bye to annis..

after that i went to orchard, spent like an hour deciding how and what to spend a borders gift card with 30 bucks worth on. in the end, decided to spend it on two books. one cost 18 bucks, and the other 16 bucks. i paid the excess 4 bucks wif my own money.I spent the next half n hour at esprit and trying on clothes. It was really fun.. I tried on like 3 tops, but I didnt buy any. later, i met up with my family, before we went to kam boat (at isetan shaw centre) for dim sum.I ordered sharks fin soup, but later remembered that im not supposed to eat sharksfin due to the horrible way sharksfin is obtained.

later I went to borders again with my dad, and browsed again. I found another interesting book about the life of a whose parents are superstars but it cost 30 bucks! my mum brought me to esprit again. and I finally decided on this top. I dont have a top like that, and I think tis really kinda pretty, so i am very proud of myself for that accomplishment. haha.

went to newton for dinner at like 5! and i was so sleepy that I slept on the way home..

i haven't blogged for a long long time. well, gotta do a really short post cos my hk hostee (annis) wants to use the com as well. tmr is speech day, and sadly I have to attend. I don't find it very interesting watching people receive prizes (unless, of course that person is me, but I doubt it ever will) and besides the dances and performances there really isnt anything much. Besides, we have to stay back for some buffet dinner which will prob. be in the canteen like last yr. and that clashes with my grandad's birthday, where I get to eat sharks fin soup and peking duck and much yummier stuff then what theyre serving in the canteen. well the week has passed so fast, I have been bringing my hk hostee everywhere for the past few days, but didnt go today because she was tired. ha! I managed to do sth productive today.. like finishing my a math hw successfully! i have gotten back most of my examination results, which were all quite ok. except for all the subjects which weren't science. which is like 5 subjects, and thats bad. well, will blog tmr, after speech day.

well, today there was guides. didnt really do much. our schedule was sth like this:
-drills
-break
-discussion of icf item
-sing songs for icf
-break
-sing songs again
-dismissal
 
haha. then i waited for like 1 whole hour for my parents to come and pick me up. if i had known earlier i would have brought a book to read, or just gone home myself. sigh. i cut my hair yesterday. it looks better, but still big mistake. why? cos
1) its hard to maintain
2) it gets messy when i wake up in the morning
3) I cant bun it up with a hair stick like i used to, as the strands are al different lengths.
 
but i cant do anything about it. At least it looks nicer, and hopefully, I'll be able to think better. Met lots of people today. There's all the guide people, sharon, mich, yusra, louisa, christine, wei ling, pamela, krystabella. btw pam, if u read this, I still dont believe u changed your number =)
 
later i got to go the airport to pick up  my hk friend. guess what? I'll be the only sec 3 amidst the bunch of sec 2s, as Laura's gg for scrabble or debate, and Liz has NDP. wow =p
 
yesterday was a slack-ey day. Mrs Khor missed 45 mins of Emath in the morning for some reason. Lucky I decided not to continue looking For mrs khor wif melo and fensta. cos around 5 mins after they went to look for her, she came into class. during amath and physics, we slacked,. both teachers (mrs khor and mr lim) didnt teach. Mr lim is like the only teacher who gave us back our paper. (besides the english papers, which they shld be returning anyway, as they had a long time to mark them) i did ok for paper 1 for physics.. the only ok result for this whole mid-yr exam. but i think my paper 2 will probably pull my grades down. =)

yup,my exams are over. but unfortunately, i didnt feel this overwhelming feeling of acheivement, which I felt when I finished my lit. paper last year. So i guess, thats not a very good sign. mayb I didnt do very well.

Anyway, we are getting papers back tmr. English and social studies.. like, I didnt even finish my social studies paper. sighhh.

haha, a very short programme.Anyway, on the way, I met the whole RTOL gang. they didnt even tell me that they were going out in advance..but its ok..

hmm.. I am going to have so much fun after my exams.. for the first two weeks that is, until the teachers start piling tests on us again. haha, and I get to host a hong kong and a japan girl! how fun! and im not even sure whether im gg to hk.. haha but it'll be fun.

it was so nice to see my friends in school again, after a very stressful weekend. pam is so quiet now, mayb theres sth wrong with her( which i seriosuly doubt so, since she claims her immune system is so good *rolls eyes*) but anyhow, it was nice to be back at school. I was just telling my mum that school girls shouldnt let their hair down in the mornings on their way to school. cos firstly, they look sloppy, and secondly, some bleary people might mistake them as pontianaks or some u noe.. and they might cause an accident on the road. ~how inconsiderate.

one more paper... to go.. ahh.. I managed to get home in 40 mins by taking bus... i would have clocked 35 mins if i had taken lrt. ahh, but nvm, its an achievement.just one then i can go to town! yay!!!

well... exams are in like 4 days time and Im so not prepared. but the gd thing abt it is that its finally going to be overrrr!!!!sigh//.

my class is really gd at stressing ppl up! its like early in the morning they start studying.. and Im like.. Oh gosh, I dont wanna study!!!so I just reprimand myself for being so pathetically lazy.. but really, my darling classmates shld relax sumtimes. The teachers are complaining that my class looks very stressed.. bleahx..

today was nth much. oh yea, I can host a student from japan!yay!I wanted to host one from Hong Kong as well but I think there arent anymore vacancies to host unless I go over to Hong Kong which I dont really feel like going to at the moment. well will blog when the exams are over, which is gonna be real soon!
